Born and raised in Basel. Former primary school teacher. Beatles aficionado and collector. First interest in music inspired by the Beatles in the sixties. Learning the guitar in self-study by using a Beatles songbook. First self-written song in 1970 (It’s only an Illusion), about 200 more to follow till today. First schoolbands with 15 (SKELETON/RAMSES II), then from 1973 to 1999 DAY OF LEISURE with Leendi (STIP) van Stipriaan and Bruno Straumann (from 1974). Many successful gigs nationwide during this time (e.g. twice final of the Augusta Raurica Jazz-Festival, 2 weeks Tabourettli Basel, Atlantis Basel, etc.). Then several years with DON’T TELL JULIA and currently, beside SHELLSTONE, member of ROUGH ENDS DOWN (RED).
